MILK GLASS PITCHER
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to a Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

I  had  fun  selecting  pieces  from  my friend  Lora’s  collection  of   antiques
and  setting them up for  ideas and experimenting
with light. Lora was a fine
oil  painter  too.   She   was  also  one  of  my  students  so this was a learning
experience  for her. I like
to work with dramatic contrasts  of darks and lights.
We  set this  white pitcher against a dark burnt umber background with a little
sparkle  of  brass  and  the  orangey, dark, shiny, grained wood o f the table. I
then  added  the  yellow  lemons  as  something alive and then a touch of blue
compliment color to spice it up.

SERAPE
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to a Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

In  setting  up  this  still life, I used a serape for  the
backround  and  then  found  items  to paint into the
still  life to make the soft orange, yellow and brown
colors more monochromatic or close in relationship
to each other.  There is always something delightful
around  the  house,  in  my  garage  and  even in  my
refrigerator that sparks an idea for a still life.

STILL LIFE OF THE OLD WEST
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to a Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

This  original  oil painting  on canvas  was probably one of my first still life paintings
from  life  which  I  finished  in  art  class  while  learning.  I  have  always  loved the
"Old  West" so the subject  matter  intrigues me.  I went  off  on my own and painted
more of the old west subjects and I may eventually put them into print.  The originals
have all sold

PURE ENVY
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to a Collector in Palmdale, California

As  one  of 20 artists  in  Dan Mieduch's art class at the Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona,
I  was  asked  to select  still  life pieces to paint  and demonstrate what I had learned.  This is
the  result.  My focus was more into color, value, design and composition.  When  my friend
saw this painting in my IPhoto program, she said, "please don't name it Pool Balls" and then
she started laughing...call it "Pure Envy".  All of a sudden, I saw what she saw...
