The  more I  paint  the more I love and  enjoy  color.  This  year I have decided
to  express  this creative color energy  by  oil painting my Western  and  Indian
subjects  on  canvas  as  Contemporary  Art.  Here  a  Sioux  Native  American
Indian  woman  rides  in  the evening sunset.  The sunset  produces a calm and
quiet  atmosphere and she has time to contemplate her thoughts. I have always
been  interested  in  how the  Contemporary  Art Genre touched the Southwest.
In  Sunset  Ride  I  employed  the  use  of  color  creating light.  Sunset Ride is
framed in an elegantly simple plein air frame
.

PLATEAU

Original Oil on Canvas AVAILABLE in 16"H x 20"W - Ships from Artist

Color  and  light here again play an important role in creating this Contemporary
Art   oil  painting on canvas.  This young  Navajo girl posed for me while  I was
visiting  the  Chinle  Reservation in Arizona.   I painted her on  her pony, on one
of  the many  plateau  areas in  Arizona,  using a fantasized  canyon  wall  as  the
backdrop.  This painting is framed  in a simple gold  leaf  plein air frame, adding
dignity, lighting the already silhouette glow

   GIFT OF BEADS, BLACKFEET
Original Oil Painting on Canvas SOLD to Private Collector, Palmdale, California

“Gift of Beads” and the little companion painting “Sunshine” are just plain fun
to paint. It’s mostly experimenting with color and design. This one is oil painted
in rich jewel colors of red, purple, gold and green with a touch of gold leaf paint

SUNSHINE, BLACKFEET
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to Private Collector, Palmdale, California

"Sunshine" and the little companion painting "Gift of Beads" are fun to paint.
Here I started with acrylic and finished in oil. I wanted to make this painting
look light and airy as the Arizona and Nevada deserts, so I created a light soft
look in the pastel colors of pink, blue and yellow.

WHITE MARE
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

Horses are capable of having trust and affection in those who take the
time and patience to love and understand them. When I was three years
old, while visiting Grandma and Grandpa's farm in North Dakota, I was
put on a horse named Jenny. I fell in love with horses for the rest of my
life. A horse drawing won me my first competition when I was only 14
This is when I knew I was gong to be an artist!

CALICO DESERT
Original Oil on Canvas - SOLD - by Providence Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona

Calico Desert is a small colorful painting created in my studio of my recollection of
the vivid colors of pinks, lavenders, golds and greens displayed in the Arizona desert.
The realization of color comes from pondering and seeing the awesome display of
colors actually there i the desert bushes, foliage and trees. I like then to expound or
exaggerate these colors. I call these happy paintings because they are fun to create
