My dear friend Frieda was born and raised in  Germany.   Listening  to  her  many
stories and seeing all  her wonderful collection of  German and  Bavarian antiques
gave me  the idea for  this still life painting. We  spent  the  better  part of  the  day
selecting the  pieces for this oil painting  and  I  had a wonderful time  later setting
up  the  still  life  and  painting  it  in  the deep  rich colors of red, gold and pewter.

   BE MY VALENTINE
Original Oil on Canvas SOLD to Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

The  original  oil  painting sold off the gallery wall as soon as it was
hung.  A customer explained it was the perfect gift for his wife! My
late husband gave me the bouquet for Valentine's Day. Immediately,
I  set  up  a still life using the  bouquet as the main interest.  Flowers
need  to  be  painted while  they  are still fresh!  I found that  having
to  paint  the  flower, I could be more  spontaneious  and loose with
my paint

I painted  two commissioned  still life  paintings  for  a family
One painting was 30"h x 24"w and the other was 40"h x 60"w
The  largest one  they hung  on their family dining-room wall.
The buyer  had such  a  nice collection  of antiques and she let
me  borrow what I needed  for more  still  life paintings.  This
Glass and Brass  Pitcher  painting  is from  her  collection.  So
many  of my a uthentic pieces  in paintings were obtained this
way

I love to set up and paint still life.  It was my pre-requisite to learning
protrait  work  by enabling me to see shapes and form, reflected light
and  things in  relationship to each other from  life.  On this particular
painting,  I  painted the color red in the backround of the canvas first,
then  I  brought in the still life pieces, adding  the drapery look in the
backround and green cloth, shadow and light in the foreground.  This
painting  is framed  in an  ornate gold frame approxamately 5 " wide.

Available in Linited Edition Giclee Print on Canvas and Fine Art

LORA'S STILL LIFE
Orginal Oil on Canvas SOLD to Private Collector, Las Vegas, Nevada

The  original painting was 40"h x 60"w.  It was the  largest commissioned
stil life I have had the pleasure to paint.  The canvas was large and hard to
transport  so we set up the still life objects in the buyer's home and I went
there each day to paint on the canvas.  Painting this painting was a family
project.   Each family member brought his or her treasure to paint into the
still life  painting.  We used the large bouquet as the center of interets and
arranged  the  pieces  around the bouquet.  Upon completion, the painting
was framed and hung in their dining room.

Available in Limited Edition Giclee Print on Canvas and Fine Art Paper
Various sizes available within the Edition
