The Ute are an important division of the Shoshoni Indians
and at one time roamed the entire central western portion
of Colorado, parts of Utah and New Mexico. In 1863 and 1868
the Government gave the Ute their own reservation in Utah,
Colorado and New Mexico. —Barbara
